Let me preface this by saying that there is no right or wrong answer (As long as it’s at least 1).

This is not so much a blog post, as it is a basic survey.

What I Carry and Why.

I carry a primary IWB (Inside the Waistband) and a pocket rocket.

There are many different benefits to having multiple firearms on you.

An IWB on your hip can give you the benefit of a quick draw for a surprise attack.

A pocket pistol can allow you to already have your hand on the pistol so that you have a tactical advantage.

Think About It

There is also the added benefit of a scenario where an assailant is being hostile, but not yet physical.

Response #1

It just so happens that, as you are lifting your shirt to draw, the situation de-escalates.

Congratulations, you just brandished a firearm, or worse threatened the assailant with the use of a deadly weapon. The entire situation changed because you started your draw when you didn’t need to.

Well, that is how the lawyers may see it.

Response #2

You strategically place your hands in your pocket, and have your gun in hand ready to draw, but don’t do it. The situation de-escalates and you resolve the conflict with words not bullets.

I know, only in a perfect world.

I was just showing you the benefits and disadvantages of both forms of carrying.

Enough About Me

What do y’all think?

Is one primary enough?

A primary and a backup in the pocket, perhaps?
